Referee training--Fall 2011


U8 Officials Course (aka U8 Referee, aka Parent Referee)

To officiate U6, U7, and U8 games.
  • August 29, 6-9 p.m., Davis AYSO Building, Community Park. Roster # 201104751.

Basic Referee Course

To officiate U9 and older games.

The Basic Referee Course is available in two versions:
  • Version 1: the entire course is done in a classroom (9 hours + lunch. Lunch provided).
    • September 3, 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Davis AYSO Building, Community Park. Roster # 201104508.
  • Version 2: the course is split into two parts. The first part is done online (1 to 2 hours). The second part is in the classroom to review the online portion, answer your questions, take the exam, and receive your uniform and equipment (4 hours).
Online
  • To take the online course, you must have an AYSO ID number. If you don't have one, you must submit a Volunteer Application Form (instructions here. ALSO: Make a bold note on the top of the form: "Need AYSO ID number to take online course"). After the form is reviewed and you are accepted as an AYSO volunteer, you will be given an AYSO ID number.

Classroom
After completing the online portion of the course, you must attend the classroom portion to complete all the requirements.

Upgrade from U8 to Basic Referee

If you have already taken the U8 Referee course and want to officiate U9 or older games, take the "U8-to-Basic Referee Upgrade Course."
  • September 7, 6-9 p.m., Davis AYSO Building, Community Park. Roster # 201104830.
Alternately, you can take the Basic Referee Course (see above).

Intermediate Referee Course

Referees who have taken the Basic Referee Course and have at least a season of game experience officiating U9/10 games are strongly urged to take the Intermediate Referee Course.
  • October 4, 6, and 9 (must attend all three dates). Roster # 201105000.

    • October 9, 1-5 p.m., Davis AYSO Building, Community Park
