The
registration steps below are the same for Fall
and Spring - please
check the specific season for registration dates and fees for each.
|
|
|
|
The
first step in the REGISTRATION process (whether
your child is new to AYSO or your child is
a returning player to AYSO) is to go to http://www.eayso.org
and pre-register your child.
To pre-register
your child, you need to complete these 4 steps:
| 1. |
Pre-register
via www.eayso.org.
(If problems with login password, see NOTE below) |
| 2. |
Print
out each player's registration form via the
"Print Form" link on eAYSO. (If
you do NOT see a printer icon
next to your child's name, you are not done.) |
| 3. |
Fill
out the Supplemental
Form (Word Doc) or Supplemental
Form (pdf) (top half only) found on our Miscellaneous
Forms page under RESOURCES in the top menu bar. |
| 4. |
Bring
the following documents to Walk-In Registration: |
Child(ren)'s
Registration Form(s) (include
copy of birth certificate if new to AYSO for proof of age)
Fall Supplemental Form (one for each child), and
Registration fee: See the appropriate season for registration
fee (different cost for different seasons)
NOTE:
If you are experiencing troubles with logging into eAYSO.org, please
email and
they will be able to supply you with a NEW login password to use
to re-enter the system.
Important Reminder:
- Pre-registering
online is the first step for registration, but by itself, doesn't
get your child on a team. You need to finish the process by printing
the form, signing it, and submitting it along with the necessary
documents listed above to the Registrar.
- If
volunteering as a coach or referee or any other volunteer positions,
please make certain to complete the "Sign up a Volunteer"
requirements on the application form when you register on the
www.eayso.org
website. The Volunteer application must be submitted each year.
Bring two printed copies of the Volunteer application
along with the registration forms to one of the walk-in registration
dates.
Frequent
Answers :
If you can't get the registration form to appear, enable popups.
Don't use a Macintosh for pre-registration unless it's been specially
loaded with Firefox as the browser.
Remember the email address you used when you first pre-registered
your child. That's the key to finding your previously stored information.
Remember
your password !
In some
circumstances (we're figuring this out now), you may be trying to
pre-register your child who has already played in a prior season,
and eAYSO doesn't show them listed, but when you create them, it
says that they already exist. If this happens to you, the fastest
work-around is to create a new entry for that child and add a "-"
character to their first name. This will get you by the duplication
check, and will also signal us that you had this issue happen.
If you
forgot your login email address, don't wait until registration to
recover it. email to
have it re-set for you.
|
|
Wait
List Policy
If
you submit your child's registration form after our
Registration Cut-off Date of July 20, your child's
registration form will be placed on the "Waiting
List" for their age division. When an opening occurs,
we will fill the vacancy with the first player on the wait list
in their division, and so on. There are no guarantees that your
child will be able to play in the designated location (N, S, E
or W) you specified on their registration form. However, we will
do our best without disrupting our "Team Balancing"
philosophy.

Area
/ Location Map (used in Team formations)
In using
one of AYSO's philosophy's, "Balanced Teams", we first
need to divide the City of Davis into locations, i.e. N, S, E &
W (see map below for reference). Then within each of those locations,
we run our team balancing program which sorts each of the player's
first by age, then by their rating, resulting in equally competitive
teams within the same location.
The
location boundries have been slightly modified to help evenly distribute
the number of players among the four areas shown below. Unfortunately
these location boundries may not agree with current school boundries.
However, this is the only way we can evenly distribute the number
of players fairly.

|
Play
Up / Play Down Policy
The
group that you belong in depends on the age you are on July
31st of each year. So, if you are 9 years old when July 31st
comes around, you are in the Under 10 (U10) age bracket.
Players
may be allowed to play up (play in an older
age group) if they petition the registrar along with the two
documents indicated below, no later than the last date of guaranteed placement. Generally you must be within a few weeks of the cutoff,
and be a player of above average ability. We will not move a
player for social reasons, as
the player's safety is the most important consideration.
The following two items must be submitted before consideration
and/or approval is done:
1)
A letter/email from the parent(s) indicating their request
for their child(ren) to play up a division; and
2)
A letter/email from the player's previous season coach indicating
their recommendation.
More information regarding play-up requests can be found on our FAQs page.
You
may email the above items to ,
for quicker response.
Players
are generally not allowed to play down (play
in a younger age group) unless there is a disability or similar
situation. If you are requesting a "Play Down" please send an
email to
and include as much information as you can in our request.
After
requests have been received, it will then be forwarded onto
the the Commissioner for review and approval if granted.

a child does not wish to participate in the Fall season, you must

to the deadline indicated below. Partial refunds (50%) will be

below. No refunds are typically granted near the start of the

by June 6th are assured a placement on a team. Registrations after
July 1st will be wait listed.
- Fall
2008 soccer registration dates:
-
Last Walk-in registration is on June 4 from 6 - 9:00 pm at
the AYSO building.
-
Important:
- Walkin
registration will take place at AYSO
building. Computers will be available for registration
at the St.
James School computer lab. We will be handing out
flyers to each school the first week of April, as well
as advertise in the Davis Enterprise.
-
Referee training begins on
Sunday March 30. Please check out website at http://www.davisayso.org/training.htm
for more details. Remember U6, U8, and U10 team parents
are required to referee their own games. Each team must
have 2 certified referees. If there are no certified referees
there can be no games. SPRING is a great time to get training
and not wait until September.
- The
Registration fees for Fall are the same as in 2007, at $140 per
child. However, if you postmark your registration by June
6th, you will receive our early-bird discounted rate
of $125 per child. For U5 division, the fee is $50.
To
pre-register, please go to www.eayso.org.
(eAYSO will be available for pre-registration starting on April
4th) .
Mail completed form, fees (you can use one check for multiple kids), and supplemental forms (one per child) and copy of birth certificate or copy of passport (if new to AYSO) to:
Davis AYSO
attn: Fall Registration
PO Box 1602
Davis, CA 95617
Additional Information for registration: We need 350 coaches and 200 referees this season, about 1/3 of them new. Contact coachadmin@davisayso.net or refereeadmin@davisayso.net for more information. AYSO's instructional programs can train the novice to be a vital referee or coach. See http://www.davisayso.org/training.htm for information about the training program and the schedules for training this summer.
Please get your registration done early. The early discounted registration fee ends June 6. Also some advice for a quick walk-in registration:
* arrive at least 45 minutes after the walk-in registration starts.
* bring your completed printed pre-registration form printed from www.eayso.org (see our registration page for instructions). Use a PC with Internet Explorer. Mac Users: use Firefox (not Opera). All users: enable popups, javascript, and cookies.
* Save time by downloading the supplemental
form from this link.
Fill one copy out per child. Circle the area of town you live
in (or want your child to play in). U6-U12 have N/S/E/W. U14
combines N/W and S/E. U19 is city-wide. In order to achieve
balance, we may need to combine S/E or N/W players for some
U12 teams.

SELECT 2009 REGISTRATION
Criteria
for the Select Season
We
encourage all eligible players (U10 and above) to apply! To
be considered, you must fill out a [Select Player Application
- will be posted here in fall 2008] form. This form
is available through your Fall Season Coach as well as under "Miscellaneous
Forms" on this website. Please
note that to be eligible for the Select program a player must
be enrolled in the prior Fall program, and must participate in
at least 50% of the regular Fall Season games. You can
only participate in Select in the same division that you participated
in during the Fall season.
The number of teams that will be formed in each
division varies from year to year. In general, you can expect
roughly 1 Select team for every 6 Fall teams. You will travel
more than you do in the Fall, as the league could involve teams
from Concord, Walnut Creek, Mount Diablo, Pleasant Hill, Stockton
and Rio Vista, as well as Winters, Rio Linda and Antelope (and
possibly others - this may vary from year to year).
A
high level of commitment is expected from both the players AND
the parents. Select is for motivated and enthusiastic players.
For the good of the team, a player must regularly attend practices
and games. Parents are expected to participate in league organization,
particularly in the running of the Select Tournament and the Davis
World Cup.
Please
see the SELECT
SEASON page for more details about the Select Season.
