FALL 2008:

...will be posted in the summer.

Field Setup/Take Down Info: Visiting teams to other regions do not set up or take down their fields. It's all done by their local volunteers.

For U6 and U8 Divisions: the Home Team is to provide the Official Parent Referee. U6 & U8 Parent Referees are given a Yellow Parent Referee Shirt after completion of the 3-hr U6/U8 Parent Referee Clinic and Safe Haven.

For schedule of upcoming Referee Clinics, please see the Referee Clinics page.

For U10 Division: the Home Team is to provide the Center Referee and one Assistant (side) Referee. The visiting team provides one Assistant (side) Referee. The Center Referee needs to be certified as at least a Regional Referee, which requires the nine hour course (spread over two evenings), plus Safe Haven Certification.

For schedule of upcoming Referee Clinics, please see the Referee Clinics page.

For U12 Division: referees provided by the region.

For U14 to U19 Divisions: referees provided by the region.

How do Schedules get made?

As you are passing through here, please take a moment to pause and note what it takes to get these schedules ready for you. This season's schedules are the work of many volunteers. It's easy to fill fields with games. It's incredibly difficult to fill fields with games that solve our particular constraints. Some of these constraints are listed below for your reading enjoyment. First, here are the heros you should be thanking for getting a schedule done that addresses these constraints.

So, what are all these constraints that make scheduling difficult ?

Here's our top ten things that made the schedulers' work difficult.

10.
We have five regions playing inter-region games in U10-U19; not all have enough fields for games, and some fields hold multiple divisions.
9.
Other regions have picture days and on those days, they need as many home games as possible.
8.
We have our picture days and have to watch away games during that window.
7.
SAT test day - need to keep the U19's playing in the afternoon if possible.
6.
Bikeable games - prioritize playing teams on a local field for U8 through U12, and to a certain extent, U14's.
5.
Don't give teams too many setup or takedown games.
4.
Balance the number of traveling games.
3.
Don't give rematches to our teams.
2.
Allow the U10 select coaches the opportunity to scout players on contiguous fields in mid October.
1.
Two DYSL soccer tournaments and one field hockey tournament displace us on three weekends. That's why you won't find games on Mace and Walnut at on the last weekends in Sept. and Oct., or games on Community 1 and 8 on 9/15.

Thank you scheduling heros !
