Spring 2022: Season Updates and Needs
Hello !
Welcome to Davis AYSO's
spring
season! By now you should have been contacted by your coach. They will be your main contact throughout the season; if you haven't been contacted please
send us a quick message
with what division your player is in so that we can help with the connection.
For those in the the 6U or higher divisions (Kindergarten and older), take a moment to review 3 important
updates
below. If you have questions you should view important season information
here
and connect with your coach.
AYSO is volunteer run-- the person sending this email, making sure teams have equipment, creating teams, and yes- even your coach! We depend on guardians like you to make the season happen. Here are the needs and how you can help:
1)
learn how
to set up a field and plan to help your team out weekly
. Everyone should know how to set-up or take down fields- most teams will have to set-up or tear down fields each week. Your player's coach should NOT be the one doing this; they have players to get prepared for the game. Games start on April 1 (next week!). Field maps and schedules are on
our website
if needed.
2)
here
to field adopt by providing your name/ email.
When not in use by eligible teams, Davis AYSO keeps goals locked for safety. Thus, we need field adopters to unlock and lock goals each Friday. Being a field adopters takes just
10 minutes
at the field prior to and just after games; you will not set-up or tear down the fields (see above). Once you sign up we'll reach out with additional instructions for this quick and easy task. You can take more than 1 week if you'd like.
3)
Learn more about becoming a referee
here
. There are going to be 448 games of soccer this
Spring
season- wow!! Game days need three types of participants to happen. We've got the players, we've got the coaches, but now we need the referees. There are in-person trainings coming up on Sunday 3/27 or on Tuesday 3/29. Refereeing is a great way to start the weekend off-- some outdoor exercise and a ton of smiles. Each team should have 2 referee volunteers to support the season.
We are so excited for the season ahead! And we know it will be great because of YOU! Thanks for being here.
Yours in soccer,
Davis AYSO
