Davis, CA (July 2023): We are incredibly grateful and thrilled to announce that Davis AYSO has been recognized as the Region of the Year by the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) which serves over 360,000 players nationwide. This prestigious award was presented at the 2023 National Annual General Meeting in Atlanta, GA and solidifies Davis AYSO as one of the top regions in the nation.
Davis AYSO is a nonprofit organization entirely run by volunteers, dedicated to providing quality youth soccer programs, which promote a fun, family environment based on AYSO's Six Philosophies: Everyone Plays®, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development. Our region offers six unique programs, catering to players of all levels from recreational to competitive, and provides playing opportunities for youth aged 4-18.
The key highlights of our award-winning 2022/2023 season include a remarkable 11% membership growth, increased support to families in financial need, the addition of four new coach and referee instructors to enhance volunteer training in Davis and the surrounding areas, as well as strengthened partnerships with the City of Davis, DJUSD, and other organizations.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the thousands of volunteers who have dedicated their time and energy since 1979. Over the years, 20 individuals have served as commissioners, overseeing all operations of our program. Countless others have been administrators, treasurers, registrars, safety directors, and volunteer protection advocates. Additionally, hundreds of coaches and referees breathe life into our program each season. Without the unwavering commitment of these remarkable individuals, thousands of kids in Davis would not have had, and would not currently have, the incredible soccer and growth opportunities that have been provided to them. To all of these extraordinary individuals who are too numerous to name, we extend our sincerest gratitude and appreciation.
In 2023, Davis AYSO will continue to serve as the home of youth soccer in Davis, offering programs for every child who wants to play during the Fall and Spring seasons. We will also provide the EPIC program, Alliance program, and Davis World Cup, while partnering with AYSO United Davis to offer year-round competitive soccer. Additionally, we are excited to introduce the Men's and Women's Sunday 7v7 league in conjunction with the Fall and Spring seasons. With programs designed to cater to everyone, we invite every Davisite to come and enjoy soccer with us in the coming years. Whether as a player, volunteer, or supporter, you contribute to making AYSO what it is today, and we are thrilled to work together in continuing to provide world-class soccer programs that enrich lives.
