1. Register as a volunteer:
Click the button above if needed OR if you volunteered during registration skip to step 2.
Please ensure each volunteer has their own account with a unique email address (youth volunteers or partners must have their own account or be added and accept an invite to the primary account)
2. Complete a background check:
Once you register as a volunteer, you will receive an automated email from Sterling Volunteers. Follow the link and complete the background check. Be sure to check your spam folder for the email. For troubleshooting, please see these instructions.
(Youth referees will skip this step)
3. Complete the 15 min AYSO Safe Haven course online:
Login to your account by clicking the "Log-in" button at the top of this page. Click the Volunteer menu on the left, and find the "AYSOU" button under your name on your Volunteer page. On our training site, click "Training Library" on the left. Under "Safe Haven Courses" click "View Courses"
4. Complete the CDC Concussion Awareness and Sudden Cardiac Arrest courses online:
Login to your account by clicking the "Log-in" button at the top of this page. Click the Volunteer menu on the left, and find the "AYSOU" button under your name on your Volunteer page. On our training site, click "Training Library" on the left. Complete the CDC Concussion Awareness and Sudden Cardiac Arrest courses
5. Complete SafeSport Training - (For Referees 18+ ONLY; Once Annually):

6. Complete an online referee training course:
Login to your account by clicking the "Log-in" button at the top of this page. Click the Volunteer menu on the left, and find the "AYSOU" button under your name on your Volunteer page.
-Click "Training Library" on the left side menu.
-Under "Referee" click "View Courses"
For Regional Referee Training
-Find "Regional Referee Online + In-Person Companion Course" and click "Enroll"
-Complete all associated trainings
For 8U Official Training
-Find "8U Official - Online" and click "Enroll"
-Complete all associated trainings
**Note completing the 10U course allows you to referee 10U and 8U,7U,6U games.
7. Attend an in-person referee training course:

9/2, Tue, Regional In-Person Companion Course (6-10 PM)
9/11, Thu, Regional In-Person Companion Course (6-10 PM)
Location: Davis AYSO Building
To enroll:
-On our training site, click "Training Event" on the left.
-Change the calendar to September.
-Find one of the two trainings and "Enroll" in them.
-Make sure you have completed the online course prior to attending the class.
*Regional Referee training requires completion of the online companion classes in AYSOU BEFORE taking the in-person course. See instructions above to sign up for the online regional referee course (available anytime).
For 8U Official:
9/4, Thu, 8U Official in-person companion class (6-8 PM)
9/9, Tue, 8U Official in-person companion class (6-8 PM)
