Q: When will games be?
Q: What division is my child in?
Q: Why are you doing a 7v7 season?
Q: Why are teams co-ed/ non-gendered?
Q: Can we be on the same team as a friend?
Q: Can I request a game/ practice time or location that fits best with our schedule?

A: Each team will train one day per week for an hour with a start time sometime between 4-6pm typically. Your volunteer coach will let you know when and where training is around the end of March. If you'd like a say in your training times or day we encourage you to volunteer as a head or assistant coach. All coaching training is provided and volunteer coaches choose which times work best in their schedule. Learn more about becoming a coach here.

Q:How do I cancel my registration or apply for a refund?
A:
You are eligible for a refund of 100% of the regional registration fees if you submit a request by March 15, 50% from March 16-March 28. No refunds after the season has started. The $20 national player fee, if applicable to you, is non-refundable. Refunds will be issued by May 30. Refunds can be requested here.

A: Games will occur Friday evenings (schedule TBA). Start times are usually between 4:30-6:30pm and varies week to week for most teams
A: AYSO uses Birth Year to determine division. We are in MY23 now. Our registration platform only lets you choose the division your child is eligible for. If you're player is eligible for both schoolyard and 6U: choose 6U if your player is in Kindergarten, choose schoolyard if your player is in Pre-K or T-K.

A: Games for 10U and above will be 7 v 7 (one goalkeeper and six field players). Smaller playing areas increase player skills and ability to play under pressure; learn more about some of the reasons who chose 7v7 soccer here. Small-sided games are played at a quick speed, increasing the player's speed of play. The fast pace is fun to watch and be a part of! The format allows players to be creative and free-thinking while playing.

Q: Why are teams co-ed/ non-gendered?
Co-ed teams allow for collaborative opportunities outside of the classroom by girls and boys. Teams are formed with as balanced a mix of gender as possible. Forming co-ed teams also allows for more competition between teams in the Spring season.

A: No. To allow for proper team formation that aligns with AYSO's 6 philosophies, friend requests are not granted. Teams are roughly formed with geographic area in mind (If you live in West Davis, you're more likely to practice at Arroyo with other West Davisites than Slide Hill)

A: No. All games will be on Friday evenings. Your coach will pick a practice time and location and let you know when that is. We are unable to accommodate practice time/location requests; if you'd like to set your practice schedule we encourage you to become a coach-- anyone can do it and it's a lot of fun!

A: Expect to hear from a coach by 3/25

Q: Should my player be in Schoolyard or 6U?
A:Some players have a birth year that makes them eligible for both programs. We suggest 6U for those in kindergarten and/or those who can be semi-independent from parents and follow simple instructions in a group. Schoolyard is great for those that want their person close by or who might benefit from more 1 on 1 interactions. Both programs help teach fundamental motor skills in a fun family friendly environment.

Q: Tell me more about the equipment exchange!
Do you have soccer equipment that is simply collecting dust in your closet? Did your child out grow his/her cleats mid-way through the season?

We are asking that anyone who has clean, used, but usable soccer equipment bring your equipment on the day-of.

Anyone who needs soccer equipment may pick up items at the event, free of charge  No donation of equipment is required to pick up needed items.

We ask that donated items be as clean as possible and should be in usable condition. Matching shoes should be laced together so they can be identified easily. Items left after the event will be saved for next seasons or donated through other organizations to kids that need soccer equipment.
